Freedom. Boundary. Guardianship.

We live in a time now when we can no longer stay silent and just sit back and allow life to diminish our basic sense of decency and steal our joy away. In a universe of lies, greed, and deceit, what’s a yogi to do?

In the “open heart yogic culture” in which we live, I believe not enough is said about creating healthy self-boundaries, about saying no, about how to protect our heart, protect our joy, and thrive in life.

We must become the guardians of the heart and mind. We have a say in what we allow in and what we put out. According to Nondual Tantric philosophy, the universe helps those who help themselves. If we don't stand up for ourselves, no one else will.

During this Tantric Revolution, you will draw on ancient Tantric myths and teachings, to come to recognize that you have a responsibility to yourself, your life, your loved ones, to stand in and for yourself; to name your shame and call out injustice.

When you align with what you know in your heart, life always works out.

“So much yoga is said to be about breaking, losing, or "transcending" boundaries when it is with boundaries (and conditions) that we experience the best of our humanity."

-Douglas Brooks

March 3: Become the Guardian of Your Heart and Mind

How do we install the gatekeeper of the mind and soul? What does guardianship mean? What are the implications for us as yogis who just want to open our hearts to everyone and open to grace? Teachings include Ganapati’s (elephant-headed deity’s) role as Fierce Warrior and Guardian of the Abode of the Heart

March 10: True Power: The Play of Freedom as Boundary, Create Healthy Self-Boundaries

We live in a universe of power. How we use that power directly reflects on our inner and outer experience. What are we saying yes to in our life? What should we be saying no to, but for complex reasons of attachment and levels of fear, we continue to prolong our suffering?

Teachings include wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita.

March 17: Shift from Victim Consciousness to Victory Consciousness

How do we step out of our self-limiting beliefs and deeply engrained and practiced samskaras of unworthiness, not-enoughness, and smallness? Teachings include stories from the Ramayana and Hanuman (the monkey deity) and the virtues of strength in adversity, humility and the power of devotion, and self-less service.

March 24: The Heart of Recognition: Role of Boundary in Relationship

How do we navigate our spirituality in a dangerous world? Why must we shield our heart, then lower the shield? How does this relate to creating healthy, strong, intimate relationships? How can this inspire us to live a more empowered life of joy? Teachings include reflections from the cosmic relationship between Shiva (the sky of consciousness) and Shakti (the power of consciousness).
